Moving enterprise integrations to the cloud to continue

In the current newsletter, we would like to follow up on the already started topic of transitioning enterprise integrations to the cloud. A lot of water has flowed since 2004, when our company implemented the very first integration platform SAP XI from SAP® in Slovakia. Today, most of our customers have implemented the SAP PI or SAP PO platform, which helps our customers to bring together their business information into a single entity. For this area, we have built over the years an expert team of consultants and architects who can do anything the customer can think of with this technology … As you know, the whole range of SAP products built on current components, including the SAP PI and SAP PO integration platforms, will be supported by default only until the end of 2027. Their successor is the cloud product ☁ SAP Integration Suite, which belongs to the SAP BTP family of cloud products.

What will this mean for a customer who uses one of these integration platforms today? The answer is clear. You need to migrate all integrations to the new platform ☁ SAP Integration Suite as soon as possible, similar to migrating an SAP ERP solution to an SAP S/4HANA environment.

Customers with such a task have a lot of relevant questions for us. They are, for example

❓ Will this new Cloud solution be as reliable as the current one?
❓ Since it is a Cloud solution, will it really be secure?
❓ I have some of my systems installed in my own infrastructure. Do I also need to integrate these systems with each other via the cloud?

Before we answer all these questions, we can assure you that the new SAP integration product will be at least as functional, secure and reliable as the previous one. What’s more, it will be highly secure, continuously upgraded even without the intervention of us as a vendor. The new product can also solve local integrations without data transfer via the Cloud and also a large part of the integration scenarios can be remigrated automatically. Our company then expertly handles the setup and migration so that the customer has as little work as possible with the entire process. Our standard before the actual setup of the new platform is the preparation of an “Enterprise Integration Principles and Standards” document, which will later become the “Integration Bible” so that every subsequent integration is secure, reliable and quick to implement.

After such a basic introduction, the customer usually continues the discussion with further questions:

❓ How difficult will it be to replace the current integrations with new ones ?
❓ How long will it all take, when do we need to start ?
❓ How much money will it cost ?

Also thanks to our 20 years of experience with integrations, we offer a service for our customers to assess the readiness of the actual migration from the current SAP PI/PO technology to SAP Integration Suite. Today, based on a few customer meetings, we can make a basic classification of how ready your current integration scenarios are to migrate to the new SAP product. Above all, the customer will receive answers to important questions, namely which scenarios are ready for migration, which are partially ready, and which current integration scenarios will need to be completely redesigned before the actual migration. Such a service will help customers to estimate with us the necessary costs and the time that will be required for the actual migration to a modern cloud environment.

In addition to the actual setup of the new integration platform in the cloud environment, premigration, reconfiguration, installation of the SAP Edge on-premise runtime, operations support, or delivery of the necessary cloud licenses, we will also deliver our own extended monitoring, which will be especially appreciated by your administrators.

Oh, and for the last question, “Who will do it for us?” the customer no longer even has to ask, as they already know the right answer in advance. 😉
